What is a commercial building inspection?
A commercial building inspection is a visual examination of the physical structure and major systems of a building used for commercial purposes.

Scope of Work
The commercial inspection will include a description of the components present in the building, observations as to the condition of the components, and recommendations as to what actions should be taken. Areas of a commercial building inspected include:
- Exterior: Siding, foundation, windows, doors, balconies and lot grading
- Roof: Type and materials, structure, ventilation and exterior of chimneys
- Attic: structure, insulation, ventilation
- The main systems: plumbing, electricity, heating, air conditioning, water heater, air exchanger, etc.
- Interior: in all rooms; doors, windows, electrical, plumbing, stairs, floors, walls, ceilings, etc.
- Security: balcony railings / handrails, smoke detectors, electricity, etc.
Commercial buildings include, but are not limited to:
- multifamily housing ( standard norms do not apply to buildings containing more than 5 dwellings)
- office towers
- warehouses
- restaurants
- hotels and motels
- stores
- shopping centers and retailers
